Artist Statement

I am an artist and student that loves to work on projects, alongside commercial ones , that make a difference in the world through the mediums of film and photography  to raise awareness for non profits, social justice and for various therapeutic, artistic and endeavours.

My work is a reflection of how I see the world around me. I strive to create images and videos that are not only aesthetically beautiful but tell stories and are thought provoking and meaningful. From candid portraits that capture the essence of an individual or of a couples love for each other to documentary photography and film work that highlights adventures and causes  it is my hope  for a person to not just glance at my work but to feel the emotions that I want to evoke. For me the documentary format (whether in photography or video) is a way of not only telling a story but an intriguing artistic way of helping people to see the world in a different way. I am addicting to exploring new places, cultures and meeting new people and using my lens as a diary for my adventures.

I first began exploring the world of photo production in New York City at Fitness magazine and now as an intern at Health magazine. I have immensely enjoyed gaining experience in assisting both the photo and art departments and shadowing on shoots. I am thrilled to have a hands on glimpse into this world and have broadened my knowledge of the editorial world.

I'm passionate about non profits for children with medical conditions and have worked fulltime involved with creative and performing arts programs at Victory Junction, one of Paul Newman's Hole in the Wall Camps as well as another one for a summer in California, The Painted Turtle.

I'm currently implementing my therapeutic photography lesson plans with hospital bound children in NYC to teach the discipline as a technical skill and for therapeutic expression as well as helping with an in hospital tv studio. I have worked with a variety of organizations in the inner cities of New York and Atlanta using the visual arts to empower and teach at risk children and youth.
